Autographs are cool
But are the fake ones?
Trump made yet another off-hand comment
what I dubbed a Trumpian slip yesterday but the one I want to discuss today is about something people genuinely enjoy and pay real money for:
autographs.
He told some kids that the signed autograph he was giving them could sell for $25,000 on eBay
As always, he likes to let you know what his value is
So what will the kids do?
The money or the memory, what would you do?
Since I got a new office, I ordered some authentic autographs to hang as conversation pieces.
Heroes from my life (maybe not in the financial realm).
Harold Lloyd, the silent film comedian, Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin, Mel Gibson, and Steven Spielberg.
But a few I really want run over $2,000
Charlie Chaplin, Akira Kurosawa.
So I looked into the fake ones.
Put them on the wall and nobody would know the difference. I could even tell people they’re authentic.
And then I stopped and asked myself: what does that say about the experience?
Two options sat in front of me:
Sell more so I can afford the real ones.
Buy the fake, convince myself it’s real, and walk into my office every day looking at a lie.
That second option is cosmetic.
And you can’t live a cosmetic life
same way you can’t build real conviction on a demo investment account or live through someone else’s results.
You may not get the full signed cast of Breaking Bad for $5,000.
But maybe you can afford a Billy Madison Adam Sandler.
That’s real.
That counts.
Which brings me to this: when I give you price levels and dates, they come from actual signals
Dow Jones composite, industrials, transports, utilities, and the futures market because it’s consistent and doesn’t require me to guess what you’re interested in.
That’s only worth something if you treat it as real.
You’re not reading AI-generated content.
This is an authentic voice, and it’s worth reading on your own time.
Always feel free to ask in the chat. The autograph on this one is real.
My thoughts go for a lot more than $25,000, by the way, you just don’t realize it yet because you have no skin in the game.
You’ll see.
SOME RANDOM COMPUTERS PRICE LEVELS
Support Amgn 353
Boeing is waiting for a breakout - key price is 232 and 216
Reversal highlight is AAPL and AXP
Breakouts - CAR!!!!! AMZN and CAT and CHRW (180.50)
Futures idea
While volatile and with leverage, I do try to find some lower risk opportunities.
And you can always trade the ETF or a stock related to a FX or commodity
Cotton, Japanese Yen, and Oil for the way I look at things. They have done pretty well.
For today,
I really like AUD but it did reverse after breakout. We need to see continued strengthh over 0.7139. Futures markets like to test price levels (more on that later).
If it sustains this we have two weeks of fun
On a good note (my way of thinking) GBP also reversed. I feel AUD will vastly outperform GBP so consider buying AUD and selling GBP over time
Have a great Friday
Eric
