Billy Wilder & Cuban Dream
vs the American One
Staying true to a commitment is tough, especially generating daily content, whether it’s for 1 reader or millions.
I’m now trying to push myself to generate longer content so my readers and new ones can see how ideas are fully fleshed out, but as I build my competency, I must continue to write, so at the barbershop, the entire day’s observations came to light.
So let’s start with the hint.
“Whether 1 reader or millions.”
The American dream has always been coming here with a few bucks and making it good.
On X, I saw that Billy Wilder died several years ago around this time
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/renowned-director-billy-wilder-dies/
Billy Wilder, the famous film director of legendary films like Some Like it Hot with Marilyn Monroe and The Apartment with Shirley MacLaine.
Believe me, if you watch any of his films, you will be surprised how modern they are
He came here with nothing, escaping the Nazi and the Holocaust of many of his relatives, and became a long-lasting legacy.
While, as I touched on it the other day, many “proud” Americans hijacked airplanes with a $100 to get to Cuba and probably still only have $100 in their name in their old age
The irony.
And the irony gets even more interesting…
The more “history” and “facts” you have, the more likely they are to be made up and probably not worth dying on that cross.
While most Americans, the ones being made fun of, are truly living their life.
As my barber alerted me, when I was talking about the Middle East, and had no clue what I was talking about
(Maybe he was joshing me as the news is playing on the TV)
“What’s going on over there?”
“No man, don’t really follow the news, just play a lot of pickleball, have a nice drink, and get ready for work.”
The American dream is to live your life and have our leaders deal with the big stuff.
A case in point is this X thread
While I’m not a fan of ignorance
It is bliss
Have a pleasant evening
Eric
