Proof that Governments will do what they want
Morals, Facts, and Logic be damned
A lot of events, religiously, militarily, spiritually, economically, legally, and politically, are occurring all over the world, and folks are taking sides.
As I told my friend yesterday, just because I tend to lean more conservatively in what I write doesn’t make me a conservative.
I just try to see where my logic (some would say illogic) will take me.
I’m a contrarian at heart; if trying to make sense of an insane world makes me so.
If I had to point to anything in particular, it was being raised not on junk food, morning cartoons, MTV, Nintendo, and Reagan/Bush 80s/90s, but
Groucho Marx, who famously quipped
Whatever it is, I’m against it
We need a few more Grouchos in the public sphere. At least it will be more entertaining.
At any rate, here are three items that just show me that getting heated over the nobility of governments and politicians is as useful as leftover milk.
The French
Those who have notoriously not really enforced rules on the books, but also calling out the morality of others, not only outlaw small pouch nicotine (which is addictive, but there is no proof it's harmful), but will throw people in lock up for 5 years!
Not even blowing pot in a cops face will get you that
A subscription to the financial press of Bloomberg, which is not a cheap subscription, will get you high-quality articles on the level of People magazine or The View about the mayor of Boston.
Just makes you think…

After Al Gore’s Inconvenient Lie that failed on every one of his predictions but inspired my government oversight and taxes, the Federal Reserve has finally decided not to be involved, as if they should have in the first place.
When Jamie Dimon and Jeff Bezos talk “tough” about NYC…any New Yorker knows talk is cheap.
And when Iranian are allowed to enter Saudia Arabia for Haj while the two countries are at war, it just says it all…
There are two worlds operating simultaneously.
One where the Politicians and elite hover, and the rest of us, no two shall twain
I really don’t believe that people will stomach a reversion to the status quo. What has made global growth is the opportunity for social mobility.
The status won’t work if I can simply point out what I believe are three cases of hypocrisy.
Even Ferrari and Sir Jony Ive didn’t even bother and just copied an entry-level EV from Nissan
(In press releases, they remove the “sir” from Jony’s title and all of his bla bla accomplishment at Apple - what has he done since?)
Have a wonderful afternoon,
Eric
