The Aliens are amongst us
And Spielberg doesn't realize it
With technology truly creating transparent financial markets and many players looking at more exploitive markets like
Providing liquidity to commission-free trading, Short selling, Crypto, and now event-driven betting
And all of them are smarter than me, so I have to focus on my strengths of seeing shadows in the dark
Like Freudian slips, historical precedent, and whimsy
Because without tools and time for quicker trades, I must look at the big picture and make investment decisions for long periods of time, I have to think about things, culture, and society.
And Stephen Spielberg is relevant.
A man who basically symbolizes our generation’s entertainment and cultural force.
It is important. Just like the Coliseum showed us Rome’s values, any form of entertainment shows what we value.
And if you allow me to rant a bit, you will see where my thinking leads to.
It will cover Aliens, Mel Gibson, Jews, Technological pace, and the Future + Keanu Reeves (because why not?)
The big issue I have with the Spielbergian school of film is that it’s all about the money, not the authenticity. It’s about Short-termism, vs the something that is Deeper.
Even his passionate movies are only for those who pay for the privilege.
Art for art's sake may be MGM's motto, but I haven’t seen Amazon, the current owner, give anything away for free.
It shows his ego, on anything about his life, his background, his vision and insight, people will pay to see. And the sequel, and the sequel of the sequel. And the remakes, yes, the remakes.
So far, it has worked very well.
So why shouldn’t culture reflect this?
That is the issue of Palantir’s technology manifesto after all.
My thinking has been from my observation of social media, asking WHY are the 80s-90s movies so much better than today, but melted down to this dreck we have now.
Is that the filmmakers didn’t believe what they were selling to the public, and eventually their true colors started to show.
Maybe it’s guilt; we are a transparent and free country after all. Maybe hypocritical at times, but certainly not fake. And the California lifestyle, without a moral center, may have led the creators to express their true feelings about life and thinking, and by coming out in the open, it will be accepted with open arms.
Currently, Tom Cruise, I’m beginning to think, truly loves the game and understands and has internalized the essence of American filmmaking.
But let’s go back to Spielberg and what he is famous for:
Making movies for kids and the kid at heart.
He has taken what we had as children and tried to recreate and commoditize it. Hollywood is Show & Business after all. The problem is that the next generation forgets the kernel of inspiration and takes things at face value.
And while many more people, even Congress, are bordering on a frenzy of revelatory proportions, that indeed they are aliens and we are going to find out NOW. If not, we will demand it.
But what if they don’t exist, but the public expects that they do?
Like the problem with the Grand ‘ole wizard in the Wizard of OZ. The lead-up is enormous, but he turns out to be a carnival barker.
Before Spielberg, movies did feature aliens, but they were NEVER real, but representations of other things. It was a good narrative plot hook to keep things neat and tidy.
We all knew it.
In the 1950s, aliens were Communist and Communist leanings.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
The Thing.
Aliens represented the fear of infiltration, assimilation, or the unseen.
Star Trek elevated the metaphor as it traveled along the galaxy, exploring what existence has to offer.
Spielberg’s specific and original contribution was to ask what if they are real. To personally identify with the alien that makes contact with us in an environment similar to our own.
Don't fear it, even if governments and the public do.
(I think vampires probably are going to have this problem soon)
Let’s look at a few of his movies and see something subconscious about them
In Close Encounters, the beings arrive in peace and are met with military terror. Only a handful of visionaries, people who cannot explain why they feel drawn to something nobody else can see, perceive the visitors as benign.
Then we get ET and yet more government overreach. My film school teachers hated the death scene in E.T. as Schmaltzy.
And to act witty, they added: just like the Director
And what about the “death” and “resurrection” scene of ET. This isn’t a Bambi moment.
Other high-brow critics called it a mythic recreation of an ancient narrative. Cynically, saying he ripped it off from Joseph Campbell.
They were closer. But not the religious parallel we assume.
Remember, the plot is that a being arrives from elsewhere. He is misunderstood. He is hunted by the state. He dies. He is resurrected. He ascends.
Spielberg was more direct in his attempt at animation, An American Tail of immigrants to the US.
Then we get to Schindler’s List where a thought struck me that Spielberg was not being able to sleep through Schindler's List and needed humor from Robin William of Mork and Mindy fame (he was an alien in his break out role)
He went on to make a questionable movie about the Munich terrorist event and Israel’s response to it. It was not exactly a fun movie, like Tarantinos Inglorious Basterds. In fact, it questioned Israel’s right to seek revenge.
Finally, Spielberg, promoting his new movie about … aliens, said he thinks aliens are us, just from a different time…
And if you haven’t guessed Spielberg’s deepest darkest impulse, all of his movie themes revolve around his relationship with Jews and his culture.
The big reveal is that the Aliens will be the Jewish people, and their accomplishments spearheaded the advances never before seen in world civilization, all because the Nazi tried to destroy everything good and decent in the world.
What if Jews are living under the protection of the US, like Schindler?
His take is Jews as survivors, not as free people. His movie Munich certainly showed that as they survived, and they cannot dominate, and must be lambs to the slaughter
But what he is saying and you can judge from yourself in your study of history, has a country been better kicking out an ethnic group and expropriating all of its wealth all in the name of an agenda?
Does it usually end after the high fives are over?
I always refer to Ronald Reagan and what he asked, “Are you better off now than 4 years ago?”
I thank God every day we didn’t see Spielberg down on all fours in an Epstein file…which are horrendous, but they are documented.
I still wonder what is not being told because no one actually says anything. And what about all the other countries in the world that rule of law doesnt exist even remotely.
Tucker and Candace and that rage baits should focus on something that’s bigger than the tree, because you are missing out on the beauty and joy
What the anger and suspicion lay is the same that if an alien does exist.
Tou don’t know what you are going to get kind of suspicion
But the facts of history belie that worry
Example:
Congress didn’t want to reveal their checkered past, so all of a sudden, ‘ wham,’ the doors that started with Swalwell are starting to reveal all the sordid congress past
Focus on aliens is easy; it's tough to take responsibility
Humans and aliens go to extremes, but there are checks in balances in a free society
The US as a whole bet big on Jews, and they helped no DEI in the Manhattan project in creating the most powerful and sustainable energy source that will save all of humanity and launch so much unimaginable progress it will be hard to keep track.
and get us to Mars
So why, despite the suspicion or what I see on social media, does the US thrive? Because it’s in the nature of the US to grow, explore, and expand, whoever is good for growth is good for the country.
I don’t think Mel Gibson is antisemitic, an alcoholic with some fringe thoughts, but a great filmmaker who wants to share his vision (but you have to pay for it)
He helps the economy. And there is yin-yang in society.
If you make Schindler's List, you are also going to get a Passion movie.
If you make the 10 commandments with Charlton Heston, you are going to get Ben Hur. Heston is fluid like that.
If you make the exodus with Ridley Scott, that is crap. You just get a flop.
If you are going to make a movie, Spotlight, you are going to get a # MeToo movement that entraps Harvey Weinstein.
If you make Prince of Egypt. You get Angel Studios.
So to summarize, in the land of the free and the brave, you can do anything here, but as Carl Perkins sang, “whatever you do, don’t step on my blue suede shoes.”
As long as the US is open for business, the economic growth will be unimaginable, looking back on it.
COMPUTER-GENERATED IDEA
AMGN price levels to watch are 351 and 349, and should direct where it will go
AMZN, a move over $251 should continue the rally
GS isn’t going to go out without touching $1000, am I right? They are bankers, they like those even numbers
NKE is on a buy as long as 45.60 holds.
Feeder Cattle 358 is supported. Trump is going to rein in high cattle prices. If indeed there is manipulation, there could be a 50% drop. I also like watching grain prices in this market.

A good afternoon to you
