With the NFL still fresh in your mind, do you ever go on YouTube and reminisce about Football lore and history?

I’m sure I’m not the only one.

When I was younger, I watched videos of amazing plays, or of the one play or sequence of plays that won the game for the champion.

Now I look at how the team and coach got the players coordinated well enough to win and win big.

The first great professional NFL coach was and remains Vince Lombardi. He is not just great for his vision and management skills; he is great because he led a new professional league when its future and dominance were unclear.

Baseball is the US pastime, yet Football has taken over much of Baseball’s attention.

One reason is that coaches like Vince took their job seriously. Maybe sports aren’t serious to begin with.

It’s a game after all, but is it?

Here is a bio about his life https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vince_Lombardi

Vince was famous for the basics of blocking and tackling.

Something that was in ample supply during the past Super Bowl.

And the key Business Secret you can start using today

He was a big believer in PRACTISE

Do plays until they are second nature.

And why is that?

Because doing the SIMPLE stuff and not messing up is the difference between success and failure

PROFIT and LOSS

Earning Trust vs. Losing It.

Today, as I came into the office, I saw my Customer Support team leaving customers hanging and without simple answers to their problems.

Basic

And my team dropped the ball (common American phrase)

“What the Hell is Going on Out Here!”

I yelled out

Apparently, no one bothered to plan ahead and left the office, figuring they’ll do it tomorrow.

It’s the one time you don’t follow your routine that you will be needed.

Just the way it is.

It’s like doing your bed, cleaning the dishes, charging the Tesla before going to sleep, brushing your teeth,

You've got to do it, buddy, or the world isn’t going to be your personal concierge.

Snatching defeat from the Jaws of Victory

And it happens in the NFL all the time.

So today’s business lesson focuses on the basics.

Always keep it simple because when you do, you realize how hard it truly is.

But, saying that, and if you read this far, sometimes it’s simple, and people don’t respect you. And they feel they can do it themselves.

Which is why you have to keep doing it because the hustle and passion are what very few people can bring to the table.

Bart Starr, the Hall of Fame QB from the Lombardi era, shares in the interview:

“He was highly organized, and an outstanding teacher and builder brought us up … quickly.”

From insight to software, the only way I have found to succeed is make it as easy as possible for your consumers to digest.

Eventually, the lights will go off.

What are your thoughts?

What have you experienced and tweaked to get where you needed to be?
