You still need a spark to get moving

Or you're ideas won't get moving

I love movies, not TV and TV series that much.

You watch 1-3 hrs, and you’re done. You may want to revisit the film. But like a good poem, it doesn’t need 300 pages to get the deed done.

A movie, like a stock idea, needs a spark. A hook.

That’s essentially a movie… one idea/concept that takes the character to deal with.

TV and TV series goal is to keep you watching, it’s not the same thing.

Films and theatre-going are great art forms that comes and goes with cultures, as all things do.

Since COVID, I really believed that people couldn’t wait to get out of the house and interact with humans…not necessarily at protests

But at our commonly accepted form of universal entertainment

Concerts

Movies

Sports

Comedy shows

Parks

So far, for the most part, it’s been working out, but not as well with movie theaters.

So, I haven’t been exactly a long-term holder with them, not because of a stock chart, but because when I go to the theater, it seems more of a ghost town.

Not when there is a big kids' movie or “event” film, but for the lay-of-the-land films.

I noticed that I myself have been brainwashed into accepting what “entertainment” is and anything BUT that, I will refuse to see the movie.

So I have been cool on theatre stocks, but lately I have been going more, and I have noticed that the kids I hired and the ones around me are also going more.

Even my daughter went out to a theatre last night.

Then I saw that “THE” art and culture critic of Substack had some thoughts on movie-going as well.

The numbers may not show an early-stage trend, but a horse whisperer will most definitely have a nose for things like that.

I would add to his comment (haven’t finished the article yet) that theatres are showing a lot of “live events” and “classic” movies, which are much cheaper to experience in a nice, clean theatre with reclining seats, a full bar, and decent food.

There are not that many movie theatre stocks out there, but any hint of a turnaround, or rising attendance, will assuredly pop these companies

The only cinema stock that I can see that has held up through COVID is Cinemark. It would say they know how to handle their financials very well
